Midtchat — the colleague you can always ask

Everyone in a hospital knows the situation: a question that can't wait. The answer exists — in a guideline, in e-Dok, or with the colleague who is right now in the middle of something more important. At Regional Hospital Central Jutland, staff now have somewhere else to go. It's called Midtchat — and it's built on Assitio.

One entrance. Many assistants.

You ask your question in one place, in plain words. The main assistant answers broadly — with all of e-Dok, some 12,000 guidelines and instructions, behind it. And behind it stands a growing ecosystem of specialist assistants, each with its own focus:

You don't need to know who to ask. You just ask — Midtchat shows the way. And the orchestration between assistants is continuously being extended.

Answers you can look up

Every answer points back to its source — a document, a guideline, an expert. Responsibility still rests with the employee, but verification takes seconds instead of phone calls: the source is right there.

Behind every assistant stands a professional: the person you would normally have called. And when the answer isn't in the sources, Midtchat says so honestly — instead of guessing.

"With Midtchat, our staff have one place to go with their questions. The answers build on our own guidelines, and the source always comes along — so each person can quickly verify the answer before acting on it. It saves time and lifts quality."

Answers that know your workday

A good answer depends on who is asking. A medical secretary in Silkeborg sees different topics than a nurse in Viborg. A senior consultant gets different information than a newly hired student assistant.

In e-Dok alone, on top of the shared guidelines sit around 2,000 local additions from departments — the same topic can have its own local practice. That's why each assistant is governed by topic, department and role, so the answer fits the workday you're actually in.

New assistants appear where the need is

Midtchat is not a closed solution with a fixed set of features. Departments and professionals can create assistants for their own areas — with their own documents and an expert as anchor.

That's how the solution grows with the organisation. Without a development project.

From one problem to a whole organisation

Midtchat began as a pilot project under Health IT with one concrete problem: complex registrations in the electronic health record, which were time-consuming and required specialist help.

Today the solution is used by hundreds of employees — and usage grows 10–15 % per month. No one has been told to use Midtchat. It's used because it works.

Built on Assitio
